Who is this Guy?
I am an executive coach and consultant, focusing on the individual and collective effectiveness of executive leaders. My passion is getting to the core of things and helping clients figure out how to be more effective and gratified in their work. Starting with a constructive relationship, I strive for honest conversations that yield useful insights and practical courses of action, whether at an individual, team or organizational level.
My clients include a wide variety of companies across many industries, located around the world. I strive to listen, take in complex information and synthesize it into effective insights and solutions.
Clients find me when:
- An executive leader requests a coach to address performance or leadership issues.
- They want help addressing conflict or ineffectiveness on a team.
- They want coaching support for people growing into new leadership roles.
- They want to build new high-performing teams.
- They are concerned about the performance of a department.
- They want help designing and facilitating executive retreats.
I have great appreciation for research and writing on leadership, teams and organizational performance. Being a student of others’ good work helps me build a foundation of wisdom and knowledge I can combine with my own experience to serve clients.
My professional path began at the University of Illinois, where I earned my doctorate in Industrial/Organizational Psychology in 1988. Since founding Vine Street Consulting, Inc. in 2001, I have consulted with organizations across the United States as well as in the United Kingdom and Europe, and have forged alliance partnerships with consulting firms in New York, Boston, Dallas and Denver.
In service to the Denver community, I have been a trustee at Warren Village since 2008, where I currently serve as Board Chair. Warren Village is dedicated to helping single mothers achieve personal and economic self-sufficiency. We offer subsidized housing, childcare and an array of programs and classes to help our parents achieve their goals.
On a personal note, my wife and I live in Denver and are thrilled to see our daughter having a wonderful experience at Kenyon College. Cycling, music and reading are my other passions. I feel grateful to live in a state where there is world-class cycling, a vibrant music scene and opportunities to experience the best of city and mountain life.
